Lighting
Art Deco inspired lighting can add a touch of class and luxe to a space. Look for lighting with symmetrical patterns and geometric details, a variety of finishes to create a distinctive and futuristic effect, tiered, elongated architectural forms featuring everything from skyscraper shades to stepped finials.
Patterns
Wallpaper with Art Deco inspired patterns are a great way to add energy to a room. Art Deco patterns are characterized by motifs with sharp, angular shapes as well as stripes, sunbursts, zig-zags, chevrons, sweeping curves and other very angular geometric patterns and stylized florals.
Streamlined Shapes
Art Deco style is distinguished by simple, clean shapes, often with a “streamlined” look. Decoration on furniture and design objects are usually geometric or stylized. Materials are often varied and include man-made substances (plastics, especially Bakelite, and vita-glass) in addition to natural materials (jade, silver, ivory, obsidian, chrome and crystal).
